Protecting Freedom

Every day the power of those who make and enforce laws is growing, while the freedoms and rights of the individual are diminishing.

Those with the power to create and enforce the government’s laws on us -are also supposed to apply those same laws on themselves.  This is far from the reality.

The best chance we have of holding them accountable is to expose abuses to as many people as possible.  The most effective way to do this is to videotape their actions and let the public judge.  Video does not lie.

Another important fact is that in the coming years, everything we do will be videotaped by the government.  It is critical that the citizens establish their own surveillance state aimed back at the government.  Right now, the state already has cameras recording us on police cars, and on many streets; they identify and track us by our license plates, our GPS and cell phones, facial recognition, retinal scans and fingerprints; they record every website you visit, email and phone call you make; they can point lasers at your windows and listen inside your house; they can send a program to your phone so they can listen through your phone even if your phone is off; they x-ray us at airports and can even park a van out in front of your house and watch everything you do inside!

Always have your camera with you and be committed to using it!  We need to get video cameras into the hands of as many citizens as possible and encourage them to record police activity every chance they get.  This will create an atmosphere of fear of being taped that will make them think twice before abusing their power.

There are many occasions when we should be recording video.  When you or someone else gets pulled over, at a protest or rally, while meeting with politicians, the courthouse, etc.  Basically, with any interaction with “authority” you should be taping.  Even anytime you see the police talking to anyone, why not?

Hidden cameras are great tools whether you are taping face-to-face or from across the street, incognito or in plane site.   The problem with visible cameras or phones is that they often get taken away in which case you should also be taping with a hidden backup (as seen here).  Our cameras are small, simple to use and inexpensive.  Attach to your clothing, hold it in your hand, have it in your car or record any way you can think of.

Check your local laws regarding video recording.  A few states (MD, IL and MA) have even gone out of their way to make specific laws against videotaping police -even though they are public servants who are out in public and paid by the public.  If they never do anything wrong, why would they mind being taped?

Keep them honest, get your video camera now!
